Dear Friends of Heavy Metal,
The latest issue of Heavy Metal magazine just hit the stands and includes a killer story by Italian artist, Stefano Cardoselli, entitled "Piece By Piece". Cardoselli broke onto the comics scene illustrating the Antarctic Press title "Winds of War", in collaboration with Bryan Talbot and Brian Holguin - not a bad way to break into the field!! He quickly followed this work up with several stints here at Heavy Metal and 2000AD.
He has illustrated games for Canadian company, Poorgamer press, and in collaboration with his beautiful wife Rita Gorgoni, illustrated and wrote the superb "Azurek Stories" and created , Azurek Studios.
Stefano was born in Orbetello in Tuscany in 1971 and says that since he was child he’s been a fan of the medium – in particular he enjoyed Spiderman. He attended an artistic grammar school in the medieval Tuscan town of Grosseto and the Academy of Fine Arts, in Florence. Today he lists amongst his favorites, "Marshal Law" by Pat Mills, "Hard Boiled" by Frank Miller and Geof Darrow and "Exterminator 17" by Enki Bilal and Jean-Pierre Dionnet.
"Piece by Piece" seen in the latest HM issue is a blood and guts, action packed Zombie slaying story, part of an ongoing series.
Cardoselli is also the artist for Platinum Studios' comic "Unique", written by Dean Motter and slated for release as a movie in 2007.

The next issue of Heavy Metal will hit the stands next week. This issue is really jam packed with nine fantastic stories, interviews, a gallery featuring Alex Horley, tributes to two artistic legends we lost this year Tim Hildebrant and Alex Toth, and an artists studio feature on the incredibly talented Pamelina H.
Pamelina H. comes from a long line of artists and has been painting and drawing for as long as she can remember. Her first illustration was published in the fan pages of Vampirella Magazine when she was just 10. Inspired and encouraged, she set her sights on becoming a commercial artist.
Pamelina arrived in Los Angeles in the 80's, just as the heavy metal music scene was mushrooming. Quickly she became a household name amongst rock and roll royalty who commissioned her to paint their concert gear, guitars and drum heads, in addition to artwork for CD covers and tour merchandise. Her merchandise and instrument commissions have run the gamut, including Jimmy Buffet, Ringo Starr, Sheila E., Blues Traveller, Aerosmith, Motley Crue, Megadeath, Def Leppard and AC/DC.
To date, she's painted over 2000 guitars for Fender and Ibanez. In 2005 she introduced her own line of painted guitars, called Pamelina Originals, the first of which features, a gorgeous Bettie Page image and was actually signed by Bettie Page herself.
Pamelina continues to be in demand to paint those things that she is exceptionally skilled at - beautiful women, detailed machinery and vibrant landscapes. You can view hundreds of her amazing images at her web site . She accepts private commissions and much of her work is available for sale on her site, as either posters, giclees or originals.
